Why a Product Roadmap Sets You Up for ServiceNow Success

Why a Product Roadmap Sets You Up for ServiceNow Success

Great news: you had a successful go-live, and everyone loves ServiceNow. In fact, they can’t wait to implement new features and migrate applications to ServiceNow. So, where do you start? What do you need to do next?

To make this next phase following implementation less complicated and far more productive, Milestone works with customers to clearly define and execute a realistic and achievable ‘living’ ServiceNow roadmap.

We like to do it in multiple phases, share the roadmap with your entire organization, and set expectations for when roadmap items will be implemented. In the first phase, we focus on defining short-term objectives. Then, for the second and third phases, we focus on the long-term goals.

Items to put on your ServiceNow roadmap:

  • Mature existing applications: for a QuickStart environment (i.e., Service Catalog or Service Portal) that you want to take to the next level
  • Introduce new functionality: new applications, new integrations, or perhaps building your custom applications

Most organizations will need a blend of maturing existing applications and introducing new functionality on their roadmap.

Without a ServiceNow roadmap, organizations struggle to keep up with ServiceNow product demand, have difficulties setting expectations with key stakeholders, and have development teams that are not appropriately staffed to meet demand.
